A Nation on the Test

Egypt passes through tense times after the Turkish parliament approved a bill that allows Turkey to send troops to Libya.

This makes it important for us to stand united against the intransigence of Turkish ruler, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, as well as this of the lobby groups allied to him, including the remnants of the Muslim Brotherhood and the emirate of evil, officially known as Qatar.

The coming days carry thousands of possibilities. Nonetheless, NATOs silence in the face of the pure hooliganism of one of its member states, one that violates all international charters, raises questions. Everybody knows that the deal on which Erdogan based the bill he sent to parliament for approval to be able to send troops to Libya is illegitimate.

The deal contravenes the Skhirat Agreement, which makes it necessary for international deals to be approved by all the members of the Libyan Presidential Council, not its head only.

Erdogan knows well that his deal with the head of the Presidential Council and the prime minister of the Tripoli-based Government of National Accord, Fayez al-Sarraj, is illegal. The deal is signed by someone who happened to be the head of the Presidential Council, but not mandated to sign international deals alone.

The actions Erdogan makes under total silence from NATO bring us back to square one. They revive foreign interference in Libya, one aiming at distributing the wealth of this war-torn state to those ready to steal it, including the Turkish ruler himself.

The defense of our national security makes it necessary for us to stop foreign interference in Libya at all costs, even by the war others want to impose on us.

Erdogan and NATO try to create a new autumn in North Africa, one they can use in tightening the noose around Egypt, especially from the western side. Ethiopia will then be allowed to tighten the noose around Egypt from the south.

Egyptian decision-makers are fully aware of Qatari moves in Africa, ones that exceed the limits of major investments. These moves also include imposing specific agendas on African states.

The fact is that we are facing a historical challenge, one that makes it necessary for us all: the people, the army, the parliament, and the government, to stand united behind President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi.

We authorize him to take whatever measures he sees fit to protect Egypt's national security.

God will surely stand by our side.
